Alleviating people’s suffering being one of his life’s missions, Swami Veda Bharati lovingly set up the Dhyana Mandiram Trust (DMT) with a keen interest in the welfare and upliftment of the society. Apart from working dedicatedly towards spreading the teachings of Yoga Meditation, DMT is also involved in carrying out many charitable activities,
mainly focussing on promoting Sanskrit education, rural empowerment, health & hygiene, vocational training, and empowering the women and differently abled individuals.

Sanskrit Education

Mahamandaleshwar Sri Swami Veda Bharati was an unsurpassed Sanskrit scholar of our times, who never went to school himself and was trained in the centuries old Vedic tradition by his father, a Sanskrit scholar himself. He greatly emphasized the importance of learning Sanskrit and of continuing traditional training systems, including Gurukulams. His disciples, all over the world, learnt Sanskrit from him and other teachers.

Many of his disciples have been trained and ordained as ‘Pandits’ by himself. Following his footsteps, DMT continues to support Sanskrit schools for underprivileged children, where young aspirants receive education about the ancient Indian traditions and train to be Pandits or priests within Sanātana Dharma (सनातन धर्म).

Yoga Education for underprivileged children

Apart from teaching yoga meditation to all our visiting sadhakas at the ashram, outreach yoga meditation programs are being offered at 25-30 schools for underprivileged children in various villages across Rishikesh, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, and Pauri Garhwal. For the past 8 years, our yoga meditation teachers help imbibe the values of yoga within these young children.

The children are taught and encouraged to take up a regular practice of yoga and meditation in their daily life.
